Bernice LaCroix, 81, of Issaquah, Wash., and formerly of Akron, died Saturday, March 21, 1992, at Overlake Hospital Medical Center. A vigil service was March 23 at Faull Renton Funeral home in Renton, Wash. Services were March 24 at St. Anthony's church in Renton.

Mrs. LaCroix, the former Bernice Blum, was born Sept. 13, 1910, in Akron. After completing the eighth grade, she worked on the family farm and cared for her five brothers. She married Rene LaCroix in 1936. She was a homemaker and a talented seamstress. The couple moved to California in the early 1960s and had lived in Washington since 1990.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, L. Philip and Carol and Bernard and Louise, all of Bellevue, Wash.; a daughter and her husband, Rosalyce and George Verzani of Los Angeles; four brothers, Gilbert, Basil, and Edmund, all of Iowa, and Bernell of California; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial may be made in Mrs. LaCroix's name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to any charity of the donor's choice.
