Rose B. Kapfer, 83, of Akron, died Sunday, .Feb. 16, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Services were Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Akron. Monsignor Gerald Lyon officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Akron, under direction of Schroeder funeral home.

Pallbearers were Marvin Siebens, Jimmy Siebens, William Henke, Kevin Bultman, Art Voss and Robert
Voss.

Mrs. Kapfer was born Feb. 5, 1909, in Plymouth County, the daughter of John Sr. and Ellen (Welch) Faust. She married Elmer Kapfer June 11, 1929; in Chicago. The couple returned to Akron, where they farmed. She taught part time in rural schools. They retired to Akron in 1968. Mr, Kapfer died in 1989.

Mrs. Kapfer was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and the Ladies League. She was a member of the. Akron Senior Citizen club and the Golden Age club.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Madonna and Raymond Hoops of rural Ireton; and three grandchildren, Collin and Jill Hoops of Ireton and Mrs. Bill (Krista) Voges Jr. of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, May Hoffman, Winnie Beaubien, and Dolly Kapfer, and two brothers, Johnie and William Faust.
