Ocy Donley Jones, Sr., 93, of Westfield died Sunday, January 5, 1997, at a Sioux City nursing home following a brief illness.
Services were held January 8, 1997, at Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, Iowa with the Rev. Allen Bidne officiating. Music was "The Old Ragged Cross" and "In The Garden" sung by Gary Tucker accompanied by Marietta Nielsen on the piano.
Burial was in Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa, under direction of Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, Iowa.
Casketbearers were Gary Jones, Dan Jones, David Jones, Devin Jones, Bobby Jones, Pat Jones, Chad Jones, Raymond Jones, Carey Banks, Quentin Banks, Bill Rook and Clint Otten.
Mr. Jones was born September 21, 1903, in Moville, Iowa, the son of Don and Dora (Bronson) Jones. He attended school in Hancock Township, Woodbury County. He married Mae Mclnnis November 17, 1923, in Dakota City, Nebraska. She died November 17, 1983. He was a lifelong farmer in Plymouth County.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Ocy Jr. and Lavonne of Sioux City, Duane and Donna, of Westfield and Robert and Angle of Smithland, Iowa; one daughter and her husband, Shirley and Donald Banks of Westfield; 18 grandchildren: 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; one cousin, Madge Peterson of Anthon, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Raleigh and Harley; four sisters, -Ethel and Ruth Jones, Belle Mathews and Ollie Bush; a grandson, Randy Jones; and a great-granddaughter, Brenda Banks.
