George T. Tammen, 80, Merrill, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1992 at Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Craig. Rev. Beth Graham officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery, under direction of Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mr. Tammen was born Nov. 27, 1911, at Le Mars, the son of Tony and Anna (Ludwigs) Tammen. He married Lilly Pageler, July 3, 1935 at Craig. He was a lifelong Plymouth County resident and farmer. He retired in 1974 and moved to Merrill. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Craig.

Survivors include his wife, Lilly; one daughter and her husband, Delores and John Mulligan of Luverne, Minn.; three brothers, John of Craig, Henry of Le Mars and Elmer of Merrill; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward; a sister, Clara, and one great grandchild.
