Phyllis J. Kask, Minneapolis, Minn., an Akron native, died Nov. 28, 1991 after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Dec. 2, 1991 at Hope Lutheran church in Minneapolis. Rev. James Nelson officiated. Music was by the church choir, accompanied by organist Warren Elness. Burial was in Fort Snelling National cemetery in St. Paul, Minn.

Mrs. Kask, the former Phyllis J. Stryzewski, was born May 23, 1927 in Akron, Iowa, to Henry A. and Emma (Gillmann) Stryzewski. She attended school in Akron, graduating from Akron high school in 1945. She graduated in 1949 from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., with a major in English. She taught one year in Decorah, Iowa. She married Glenn Kask, Sept. 9, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. She was a substitute librarian in a public library in Minneapolis, and also did substitute teaching. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the church choir for 30 years. She was also an active member of the library board. One of her favorite pastimes, was to go fishing.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn of Minneapolis; a son, David and his wife, Bonnie of Duluth, Minn.; a daughter, Susan Johnson and her husband Thomas F. of Shakopee, Minn.; five grandchildren, Jason and Bria Kask of Duluth, and Tom, Amy and Dan Johnson of Shakopee; one sister, Esther Forrest of Carroll, Iowa; and one brother, Ralph Stryzewski and his wife Blanche, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; aunts, uncles, nieces , and nephews and many cousins.

She was a niece of Verna Lehmann of Akron.
