John "Jack" Henrich, 70, Akron, died Thursday (July 5, 1990) at the Hawarden Community hospital.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Akron. Monsignor Gerald Lyon officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery in Akron, under direction of Schroeder funeral home of Akron. Visitation, a scripture prayer service at 7:30 .p.m. and a parish rosary at 8 p.m. were held Sunday: at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Henrich was born Aug. 24, 1919, at Merrill, the son of John H. and Josephine (Shea) Henrich. He married Amelia Lambert March 28, 1939, at Akron. He was a lifelong resident of rural Akron, farming all his life. He and Amelia loved to square dance, and danced with the Country Cousins in Le Mars and the Dudes and Dolls from Elk Point. He also loved to fish, hunt and play cards. . He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, where he was an usher for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Amelia; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kay Henrich of Akron; six daughters and five , sons-in-law, Kathleen and Arthur Johns of Burlington, la., Charlotte and Emil Beeck, JoAnn and John Ziniel, and Susan and Bob Brown, all of Akron, Kay and Ed Schoenfelder of Westfield, and Jackie Bitz of Sioux City; a sister, Marion Staab of Remsen; one
brother, Gerald of Akron; his stepmother, Ida Henrich of Sioux City; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Henrich.
