Donald C. Waterman, 84, 504 Third St., Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, died Saturday, March 14, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Rev. Elwood Rieke, pastor of First Lutheran church, officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery.

Mr. Waterman was born July 23, 1907. in Walthill, Neb. He lived in Sioux City, Westfield, Iowa, Akron, Iowa, Salix, Iowa, and Sergeant Bluff, where he attended schools.

On Dec. 15, 1934, he married Blanche Kennett in Omaha. She died Feb. 3, 1985, in Sioux City. He worked for Churchill Manufacturing in Sioux City and Vestal Chemical Co. in St. Louis, Mo. He was a custodian for Security National Bank and worked a short time at Sioux Tools Inc. In 1940, he started with Iowa Public Service and worked there for 30 years, retiring in January 1970.

Mr. Waterman had been a member of Sergeant Bluff United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. Anmavid pilot, he built one of the original hangers at the Sioux City airport.

Survivors include a brother, R. Wayne Waterman and his wife, Evelyn of Akron, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Hedwig Waterman of Kingsley, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by six sisters; Doris O'Donnell, Mabel Brown, Violet Golz, Luella Pope, Marguerite Ogden, and Lenna Mae; and three brothers, Will, Jim and Eber Waterman.
