LIFELONG RESIDENT
OF AKRON COMMUNITY

Funeral services for Alfred T. Johnson, 77, lifelong rural Akron resident who died in a hospital Wednesday were at 2 p.m. Friday at the Brule Creek Lutheran church near Akron. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born on a farm near Akron April 5, 1886, and had resided there ever since. He was a member of Brule Creek Lutheran church.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Bertina Williams and Ida Johnson, both of Akron, and Mrs. Lena Klopstad of Elk Point.

LAST RITES ARE HELD
FOR ALFRED T. JOHNSON '

Alfred T. Johnson, life-long resident west of here in Union County, S. D., passed away at the Akron Hospital on Wednesday, August 28, aged 77 years, 4 months and 23 days.

Mr. Johnson was born April 5, 1886, on a farm in Union County, where he had engaged in farming. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Brule Creek Lutheran church all his life. He was held in respect for his many fine qualities.

Two brothers, Arthur and Martin, preceded him in death.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Bertina Williams and Mrs. Ida Johnson, both of rural Akron, and Mrs. Lena Klopstad of Elk Point.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in Brule Creek Lutheran Church, Rev. Kermit J. Rye officiating. Mrs. Darrell Johnson was vocalist. Mrs. Charlotte Grossman was organist, Pallbearers were George Wilken, Carl Nelson, Lewis Satter, Albert Anderson, August Huebner and Lewis Helseth, interment in the church cemetery.
