John Thomas Mullinix, 74, Akron, died Sunday, 1992 at the Akron after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Schroeder Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. William Flemr officiated. Carol Harris, soloist, sang "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden," accompanied by Phyllis Frisk, pianist. Burial was in the Beloit Cemetery at Canton, S.D. under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. Casket bearers were friends of John.
Mr. Mullinix was born Jan. 19, 1918, in Mott, North Dakota, to Ed and Lucy (White) Mullinix. He farmed for many years and later worked for ma'ny years at Higman Sand and Gravel Co., in Akron.
Survivors include four sons, Willard of Canton, S.D. Charles of Agana, Guam, Larry of Sioux Falls, and Donnie of Akron; one daughter, Tammy Mullinix of Wayne, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Robbins of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Knapp of Macon, Missouri; three brothers, Beeman of Brookings, S.D., Robert of Spirit Lake, and Glen of Houston, Tex.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Helen Garnell Mullinix; two sisters, Mrs. Myrl Daily and Mrs. Al Hay; and two brothers, Howard and Bryon Mullinix.
