Charles W, Yoerger , 66, of Independence, a former Merrill resident, died Thursday (July 6, 1978) at a Sioux City hospital. He had been ill five weeks.
Services will be at 10:,30 a.m.Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic church, Ellendale, Rev. James Bruch will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday in the Luedtke funeral home, Le Mars.
Mr. Yoerger was born Nov, 11, 1911, at Merrill, to Maximillion and Theresa Zink Yoerger. He married Faye E. Tabke on Oct. 1, 1938, at Ellendale. The couple moved to Independence 17 years ago where Mr. Yoerger was superintendent of building and grounds for the Independence Community School District. He retired four years ago because of poor health.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Jan) Kair of Minneapolis, Minn.: four sons, Charles of Amos, Keith of Evansville, Wis., Larry of Hinton and Donald of Alton; three brothers, Ray, Frank and Harry, all of Merrill, and 19 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Rose Eberhard,
