Florence E. Valentine, 84, former Akron resident, died Monday, May 4, 1992, at Pleasant View Rest Home in Whiting following a brief
illness.

Services were Wednesday at Berkemier Funeral Home in Sioux City. Rev. Merrill Muller of Riverside United Methodist church officiated. Burial was officiated at Mason City (Iowa) Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. Valentine, the former Florence Elizabeth Washburn, was born April 18, 1908, in Baraboo, Wise. She moved to the Albert Lea, Minn., area as a young woman. She moved to Mason City in 1951. She married John Valentine May 12, 1953, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, la. The couple made their home in Mason City until 1964, when they moved to Montevallo, Mo. He died April 25, 1967, in Montevallo. She moved to Akron in 1972. She was employed as a several years.

Survivors include a daughter, Ida Theeler of his wife, John and Joan Eveland of North Sioux City; a sister, Marie Hamblin of Green Bay, Wise.; 10 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
