Anna V. Garvis, 90, Jefferson, S.D. died Friday, May 1, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services were Monday at St. Peter's Catholic church in Jefferson. Rev. Edward Burian officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery, under direction of Berkemier funeral home in Sioux City.

Mrs. Garvis, the former Anna Veronica Weidenfeller, was born Feb. 12, 1902, in Akron, Iowa. She attended Akron schools. She married Clarence "Fritz" Garvis May 15, 1935 in Akron. The couple made their home in Jefferson following their marriage. They moved to the Akron Convalescent Care Center in 1990. Mrs. Garvis was a member of St. Peter's Catholic church, St. Peter's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America and the Jefferson senior citizens.

Survivors include her husband; a sister, Mary Harnois of Vermillion; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine and Clara Weidenfeller; and two brothers, Tony and Carl Weidenfeller.
