Joseph A. Loutsch, 61, of Plainfield, Ill., died peacefully Monday, June 28, 2010, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joe was born Aug. 14, 1948, in Le Mars and was a resident of the Joliet and Plainfield, Ill., areas for 36 years.

He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, seeing action overseas for 18 months.

He was employed by Anzelc Welding & Fabricating, Rockdale, Ill., for 37 years.

He loved the outdoors. He took great pride in his gardens and enjoyed fishing.

Joe was the perfect husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Aleta Mary (nee Nemanich); his wonderful children, Heather (Spencer) O'Neill of Las Vegas, Nev., Jeff (Yvonne) Loutsch of Mendota, Ill., Jason (Sara) Loutsch of Joliet, Ill., Lauren Loutsch of Plainfield, Ill., and Brandy (Chris) Bright of Urbandale; his special grandchildren, Parker, Mason, Jackson, Ashley, Brittany and Nathan; his four dear sisters, Jean Loutsch of Remsen, Joyce Nussbaum of Le Mars, Janice (Bill) Rokaitis of Orland Park, Ill., and Jackie (Doug) Langel of Le Mars; his dear brothers, Jerome (Shelly) Loutsch of Hinton, and Jay (Mary) Loutsch of Remsen; as well as nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Loutsch, and his brother, Jeffrey Loutsch.

Visitation will be Wednesday 2-8 p.m. at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home, Plainfield, Ill.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Rt. 59, Plainfield. Interment with full military honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
