FORMER RESIDENT IS ASPHYXIATED
IN MOTEL WHILE ON VACATION TRIP
Henry Brink, 65, Was Manager Of
Elevator At Oyens Last Seven Years

Henry Brink, 65, former Le Mars resident who moved to
Hospers last summer, died of asphyxiation Wednesday
night at a motel in Monroe, La. He was on a trip to Florida
with his wife, Hattie, 65, who was overcome and termed in
"critical " condition at a hospital. Mr. Brink was manager of
the Oyens Cooperative Gram Elevator Co. the last seven
years until retiring last Aug. 1. During that period the couple
had resided in Le Mars, moving to Hospers after Mr. Brink’s re-
tirement to be near a son.

Mr.Brink's death was termed accidental — from suffocation
in a motel room, where windows were closed and two
gas heaters were operating. The Brinks had left Hospers
Jan. 3 for a long trip. They did not plan to return until May
after visiting in Washington state and other west coast
points.

Survivors include a son, Clifford of Hospers; two
daughters, Mrs. Harold Vande Berg of Rock Rapids,
and Mrs. Oscar Vander Plo Of Noaksack, Wash., four
brothers and four sisters.
