Alvina B. Schindel

Alvina Barbara Schindel, 97, of
Hinton, died Monday, March 4,
1996, at Indian Hills Care Center in
Sioux City.

Alvina Barbara Hahn was born
Nov. 17,1898, in Minnesota to Er-
nest and Elizabeth (Porch) Hahn.
She grew up in Plymouth County
and received her education in
country schools. She married
Ralph M. Schindel on Dec. 8, 1921,
at Kingsley. The couple farmed in
the rural Hinton area until their re-
tirement in the early 1960s when
they moved to Hinton.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church, Hinton, American
Legion Auxiliary, Trinity Lutheran.
Ladies Auxiliary and Hinton Senior
Citizens.

Survivors include three sons and
daughters-in-law, LeRoy and Ann
Schindel of Crofton, Neb., Clarence
and Mary Jane Schindel of Hinton,
Leslie and Janice Schindel of Hinton;
a daughter and son-in-law,
Deloris and Vincent Milton of Hinton;
nine grandchildren; and 18
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband, Ralph, in
July of 1969; two sisters, Anna Early
and Barbara Nugent; one brother,
Chris Hahn; and a grandson,
Ronald Schindel.

Funeral services will be at 10:30
a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran
Church, rural Hinton, with the
Rev. Dr. Michael Boykin officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be after 2
p.m. Wednesday at the Mauer-
Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars,
with the family present from 7 to 8
p.m. at the funeral home.
