Myron W. Borchers, 59, of Ireton, la., died Monday (Oct. 7,1991) at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, la.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 10) at St. John Evangelical Lutheran church in Craig la. The Rev. Beth Graham will officiate. Burial will be in the church
cemetery, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson funeral home in Le Mars. Visitation was held after 2 p..m. Wednesday, with family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Borchers was born Dec. 21, 1931, at Sioux City, la., the son of Louis G. and Beatrice (Eilts) Borchers. He was a lifelong Plymouth county resident. He married Inez Jacobs June 29, 1951, at Akron, la. He farmed and was an insurance agent for German Farmers Mutual Insurance.

He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran church at Craig, where he held many church offices. He was currently serving as president of the board of directors of the German Farmers Mutual Insurance Co.

Survivors include his parents; his wife; a son, David and his wife, Becky of Akron, la.; two daughters, Deb and her husband Ron Juffer of Ireton, and Laurie and her husband Jim Hartgraves of Cotton Wood, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Heather and Holly Borchers, Chris and Cara Juffer and Lindsay Hartgraves; a brother, Lloyd Borchers and his wife Lorraine of Le Mars; a sister, Maurine Laux and her husband John of Grand Island, Neb.; several nephews and nieces.
