Death of Mrs. Hamilton.

Merrill Record: Mrs. James Hamilton,
a well known resident of the central
and western part of Plymouth
county, died at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Will Stinton, in Westfield
township, Tuesday morning,
October 8th, age 74 years. The funeral
is being held at Adaville today,
Rev. Boyd, of the United Brethren
church, officiating.

Mrs. Hamilton has been quite poorly
the past four or five years and as
the weeks and months went by she
grew gradually weaker and weaker
until the end of her earthly pilgrimage
came and her spirit took its
flight to Him whom she loved to
serve. She has been a devout and
faithful Christian lady for many
years and the world is better today
for her having lived here.

Margery Arnold was born in Ireland
Easter Sunday, April 16, 1838.
She came to this country with her
parents when a few years old, locating
in New York City, where she
spent her girlhood. She united with
the Presbyterian church at the age of
fifteen years, of which she was a
faithful member. A few years ago
she united with the U.B. church of
Adaville.

She was married in New York City
to James Hamilton December 25, 1860.
Eight children were born to this
union, six boys and two girls, David,
Charles Thomas and James, who with
the husband, have preceded her to the
Great beyond. William Joseph, Mrs.
Sadie Stinton and Mrs. Mary Scott
and eleven grandchildren all of this
county survive her.
