Dead at 71 – Funeral
Wednesday at Westfield

Frederick A. Hummel, 71,
Elk Point, S. D., died Sunday at
the residence after suffering a
heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30
p.m. Wednesday at the An-
derson Funeral home in Elk
Point and at 2:30 p.m. at the
Westfield Congregational Church.
Burial will be in the Westfield
Cemetery.
Mr. Hummel was born Sept 17,
1889, in Union county. He
Married Alta Rosenbaum of Elk
Point Dec. 2, 1919, and the cou-
ple resided at Westfield until
moving to Elk Point in 1953.
He was a veteran of World War 1
and was a member of the Elk
Point post of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars and I.O.O.F
Lodge.
Surviving are the widow; two
daughters, Mrs. Rae Henke of
Sioux City and Mrs. Marg Monroe
of Sioux City; three sons, Maj.
Walter Hummel, serving with the
army in Germany and Warren
and Martin Hummel, both of Port-
land, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret
Skog of Crosby, Minn, and Mrs. Lena
Campbell and Mrs. Ida Morehead
both of Sioux City; a brother George
Hummel of Westfield, 19 grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren.
