Funeral services for Duane Dewey, 40, Westfield farmer, will beat 2p.m.Wednesday at the Congregational church in Westfield. Rev. Edward Mans will officiate and burial will be in Riverside cemetery under direction of the Schroeder funeral home in Akron. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dewey was killed accidentally Sunday evening at his farm home when his feet were caught in a fence and the gun he was carrying while hunting discharged, wounding him in the head.
He was born July 30, 1928, at Irene, S. D. He lived there until the age of three and then moved to the Westfield area with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Lester Dewey. His father died in 1966.
Oct. 5, 1949, he was married to Dorothy Raby at Sioux City. The couple had farmed on the same farm since.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Jerry, Dennis and Lesley and a daughter, Rita, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Lester Dewey, Westfield; four brothers, Harvey, Akron; Gene, Sioux City; Mahlon, Priest River, Idaho, and Harlyn, Westfield, and a sister, Mrs. Gerald Schnee, Sioux City.
