Gordon Wayne Radtke, 37, of Akron, died Thursday (June 14, 1990) at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Memorial services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Schroeder Funeral home in Akron. Rev. Robert Houchin of Kansas City officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron. A prayer service was held Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers were Kory McMillan, Kenneth McMillan, Matthew Bringman, Jerold Dykstra, Kenneth Larson, Kenneth Hoffman, Rod Reoh and Ray Hoffman. "The Lord's Prayer" and "Love Lifted Me" was sung by Gary Tucker.
Mr. Radtke was born Aug. 28, 1952, at Akron, the son of Wayne and Arlene (Hoffman) Radtke. He graduated from Akron high school in 1970. He married Susan Morehead
Aug. 17, 1973, at Akron. He was an automobile salesman for Rod's Ford from 1972-1977. He then went to Kansas City, where he managed a restaurant for 10 years. He returned to Akron in 1988.Survivors include his father, Wayne and step-mother Marilyn, of Akron; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Kenneth McMillan of Akron and Denise and Matthew Bringman of Westfield; three nieces and two nephews, Kimberly, Karrie and Kory McMillan, Heather McFarland and Jordon Bringman; two stepbrothers, Randy Listen of Seattle and Duane Listen of Lombard, Ill., and a step-sister, Sherry Jacobs of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
