John William Plueger, 77, of Le Mars, lifelong Plymouth county resident, died last Wednesday at Floyd Valley hospital after a 6-month illness. He had been hospitalized since March 2.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church, Grant township, with Rev. Robert Reitz officiating. Burial was in Christ Lutheran cemetery, Grant township, rural Le Mars, under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

He was born Jan. 30, 1893, in Grant township, rural Le Mars, a son of the late Henry and Trinka (Dirks) Plueger. He was married to Sena Siebens in August of 1913. She died in June of 1954. He married Gertrude Faust in December 1955. She died in December 1956.

Mr. Plueger farmed in Preston township his entire life. He retired to Le Mars in 1956. He was a member of Christ Lutheran church, Grant township.

He was preceded in death by a son Laurence, an infant daughter; two brothers, William and Arthur, and two sisters, Emma and Lillian.

Survivors are three sons, Roy of Verdi, Minn., Henry and George, both of rural Le Mars; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Siebens and Mrs. Anna Molzen, both of rural Le Mars; three brothers, Fred and Richard Plueger, both of rural Le Mars and Henry Plueger of rural Akron; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
