John Lubben Passed Away in Le Mars on Christmas Morning

John Lubben of Le Mars, a former resident of this vicinity, passed away at his home early Christmas morning, following a lingering illness from cancer. He had been bed fast for several weeks preceding his death.

He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Lubben of Le Mars, who for many years resided south of Hawarden. He was born in Plymouth county but he came to Sioux county with his parents when a small boy and for years lived on the Lubben farm, south of Hawarden in Logan township. He was about 41 years of age and a veteran of the World War. For a number of years he had lived, in Le Mars and he ran for sheriff of Plymouth county in the primaries last June. His father is very ill in a hospital in. Sioux City at present. He leaves a wife and three small children. He is also survived by his parents, who live in Le Mars, and two brothers, George of Le Mars and Henry, who lives on the home farm south of Hawarden, and four, sisters, two of whom are Mrs. August Osterthun of Chatsworth and Mrs. John Rankin of Le Mars. One brother, Bernard, died while serving in the army during World War.
