Armin Wessels, 60, Le Mars, died Friday, June 24 at the Floyd Valley Hospital after long illness.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 27, in St. John’s American Lutheran Church at Le Mars. The Rev. William Striepe officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Wessels was born May 3, 1923, in Ireton. He was employed as a bridge foreman for the Plymouth County Highway Department. He served in the Navy during World War II.
He married Maxine Johnson September 12, 1948, in Hawarden.
He is survived by his widow, four daughters, Mrs. James (Linda) Lehrman, Struble, and Mrs. Ron (Kristy) Harvey, Mrs. Mark (Vikki) Massuen and Mrs. Ray (Denise) Robinson, all of Le Mars; 10 grandchildren; his father, Herman, Le Mars; one brother, Leonard, Ireton; three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Alma) Westergard, Hawarden, Mrs. Leonard (Bernice) Dixon, Bernicia, California; and Mrs. Dale (Evelyn) Koerner of Holtville, California.
