Frieda Eilers, 88, Plymouth County native and long-time LeMars resident, died on Thursday, May 30, 1990, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, IA.
Services were held on Saturday, morning, June 2, 1990, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars where she was a member, the Reverend David Kramer officiating. Burial was in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Frieda Helena Borchers, the daughter of Henry and Helena (Tool) Borchers, was born on January 27, 1902 in Plymouth County, IA. She married Fred Eilers in Le Mars on February 9, 1921. They farmed near Craig, IA, and later moved to Wilmer, MN. Mrs. Eilers returned to Le Mars at the time of her husband's death.
She is survived by one son, Robert Eilers of Lake City, FL; two daughters, Jo Ann (Mrs. M.D. "Whitey") Klohs of Le Mars, and Elaine Freed of Colorado Springs, CO; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Wilbur; one brother, and two sisters.
