Fred A. Utesch, 79, 1200 River Drive, died Sunday, April 8, 1990, in Matney Westside Manor after a long illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Berkemier Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Spears of Riverside Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be Hillside Cemetery at Merrill, Iowa. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 7-8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Mr. Utesch was born April 21, 1910, near Le Mars, Iowa. He married Leona Lemke July 3, 1931 at Brunsville, Iowa. The couple made their home at Le Mars until 1952 when they moved to Sioux City. He was employed by Tom Bohlke Construction Company and W.A. Klinger Company until retiring in 1975.
Mr. Utesch was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 948.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Donald Wilmes of Sioux City and Joan and Tom Bohlke of Hinton, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. Caroline Aldrich of Canton, South Dakota, Mrs. Esther Otken of Le Mars, Mrs. Vera Dotson of Palm City, Florida and Mrs. Evelyn Wilken of Stuart, Florida; two brothers, Earl of Le Mars and Harold of Oyens; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter and a great-grandchild, Jeffrey Kelley
