John Groetken, lifelong resident of this community, passed away early Friday, December 20, 1957, following a sickness which lasted two years. He was 67 years of age and resided at 301 Plymouth St., N.E. in Le Mars.

Mr. Groetken was born May 10, 1890 in Elgin township. He farmed in Elgin township until 14 years ago and has since lived in Le Mars.

Geneiveve Thoma and John Grotken were united in marriage on May 31, 1948, in Le Mars.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 23, at St. Joseph's church at 9:30 a.m. Burial was in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home. Msgr. J.D. officiated.
