Henry J. Becker Dies In Idaho

Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Becker, residing at 201 Fourth Avenue, NW., were notified Friday of the serious illness of their son, Henry J. Becker, of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Preparing to hasten to the bedside of their son, they received a telegram later in the day informing them of his death (Sept 6, 1935).

Mr. and Mrs. Becker left Friday night to attend the funeral which was held Monday( Sept 9).

Henry J. Becker spent his younger days in this vicinity. He was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Becker and was born on the farm they own, north of Struble, in 1882 (January 20).

He went to Idaho about twenty-five years ago and engaged in farming near Idaho Falls, where he was successful in his occupation.

Coming here a year ago from Idaho to attend the funeral of his brother Louis Becker, while in Le Mars he was stricken with illness, and lay for many weeks in a serious condition and since that time never enjoyed good health.

Mr. Becker was married twenty three years ago to Lena Eilts of Sioux county. He is survived by his wife and six children, Inez, Lois, Ruth, Luvena, Hollis, and Willis, his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Becker and his brothers and sisters, Emil and Helmuth Becker, Alwin Becker, deputy county treasurer, Mrs. John Brangwin, Miss Lillian Becker, living in Le Mars, Mrs. E. B. Carlson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Mrs. M. M. Harrison of Sioux City and Miss Norma Becker, who teaches school in Des Moines.

Mr. Becker was born and reared on the farm of his parents, southeast of Ireton in Reading township. The Becker farm is known far and wide as one of Sioux county’s fine farms. The deceased visited here less than a year ago and while in this vicinity he was taken very ill, which prolonged his stay.
