Mrs. Helena Becker Meppen, 89, Idaho Falls, died Sunday morning at a private home of natural causes.

Mrs. Meppen was born June 25, 1886, at Ireton, Iowa, a daughter of Hillert and Marie Balken Eilts. She grew up in Iowa and was married to Henry Becker January 10, 1912 at Ireton. They lived in the Idaho Falls area, where he died in 1935.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Meppen is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Otto (Inez) Wessel, Mrs. Lewis (Ruth) Hackman and Mrs. Burt (Lueta) Wackerli, all of Idaho Falls; a son, William Becker of Idaho Falls. A sister, Mrs. Emma Brabander of Le Mars, Iowa; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Marquardt officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Buck-Sullivan Funeral Home.

The family suggests that those who wish may make contributions to the St. John’s Lutheran church Memorial fund in lieu of flowers.
