Funeral Held Saturday Afternoon

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Ludwigs Sr. of Craig, mention of whose death last Wednesday, December 1, was made in this paper last week, were held at St. John’s Lutheran church in Craig at 1:30 Saturday afternoon, Rev. L. G. Hanneman officiating. Interment was made in the family burying ground in the Grant township Lutheran cemetery.

Anna Hartmann, a native of Germany, was born at Tisberg, Owt Friesland, January 23, 1862, and so had attained the age of almost 76 years at the time of her death. The year of her birth her parents immigrated to America. Coming west they located in Jones county and in 1876 they came to Plymouth county. She was united in marriage with Henry Ludwigs in 1878 (May 7), and to this union were born 11 children, three who preceded her in death. Besides her husband, she is survived by eight sons and daughters, who are Mrs. Lena Minnets, Gerd Ludwigs, and Wm..Ludwigs of Chatsworth, and Mrs. H. Tammen, Otto, Henry, and Eilert Ludwigs and Fostoria of Craig, 37 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren., Mrs. Ludwigs was a devoted wife and mother and homemaker and was esteemed by all who knew her. She was a lifelong adherent of the Lutheran church.
