Alton Democrat of Dec 22, 1888.
(An article reprinted from the LeMars Globe)

Fatal Accident
Word was received here at a late hour Monday night that Adam Henrich, residing on the west line of Plymouth Township, had died from the result of an accident in the afternoon.

It appears that Mr. Henrich was backing a wagon for some purpose, he being on the ground in rear of the wagon. The horses backed up too far and crushed him between the wagon and the wire fence. He died in a few hours afterwards. The deceased has lived in this county nearly fifteen years and leaves a wife and eight children, the oldest only 13, years of age. The family is almost destitute as the 40 acres is heavily mortgaged. ~Le Mars Globe.
