Juan J. Chagolla, 46, of Le Mars, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident south of Le Mars.
Juan Jose Chagolla, the son of Ma Ofelia Hernandez Torres and Narcizo Chagoya Rodriguez, Sr., was born March 8, 1963, in Reynosa Tamps, Mexico.
On Dec. 13, 1985, Juan was united in marriage to Rosalinda Ruiz in Reynosa Tamps, Mexico. They became the parents of three children.
Juan and Rosalinda relocated from McAllen, Texas, to Le Mars in 1992. Shortly thereafter, he became employed as a production operator at Wells' Dairy, Inc., where he was still currently working. He took great pride in providing for his family.
Some of Juan's favorite leisure activities included cheering for the Cruz Azul Spanish soccer team, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, tending to remodeling projects in his home, traveling, dancing, watching movies, and listening to 1980s American music and Spanish hard-rock music. His favorite song was "Gavilan O Paloma," sung by José José.
Juan thoroughly enjoyed his job and treasured the friendships of his co-workers. He was a thrifty man who loved shopping for a good bargain and spending time with his family.
Juan will be sadly and dearly cherished by all who have shared in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalinda Chagolla of Le Mars; his son, Diniz Chagolla of Fort Hood, Texas, his daughter, Yancy Chagolla of Le Mars and his son, Alessandro Chagolla of Le Mars; his two granddaughters, Izabella and Elizabeth Chagolla; his mother, Ofelia Chagolla of Reynosa, Mexico; his siblings, Amancio (Esthela) Chagolla of Dallas, Texas, Eva (Raul) Chagolla of Reynosa, Mexico, Adolfo (Vicky) Chagolla of Le Mars, Antonio (Martha) Chagolla of Reynosa, Mexico, Santiago (Yolanda) Chagolla of Reynosa, Mexico, Micaela (Eugenio) Chagolla of Reynosa, Mexico, Alicia (Enrique) Chagolla of Rosenberg, Texas and Alma (Gregorio) Chagolla of Rosenberg, Texas; and numerous other relatives, friends and co-workers.
Preceding Juan in death were his father, Narcizo Chagolla, Sr. and his brother, Narcizo Chagolla, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars with the Rev. Oscar Perez of St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, Neb., officiating. A funeral service and burial will be held at a later date in Reynosa, Mexico.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today (Monday) at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Spanish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday, one hour prior to Juan's service.
