Elizabeth (Britt) Parry, of Le Mars, died suddenly Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at her residence at the age of 90.

The former Elizabeth Eva Baldes was born Feb. 21, 1919, on a farm southeast of Le Mars near Neptune, the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Vondra) Baldes. She grew up in the Neptune area and was educated in rural schools.

Elizabeth married Aloys Britt Feb. 7, 1939, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church-Neptune. The couple farmed for many years in the Neptune area until moving to Le Mars in 1973. Her husband Aloys Britt died Jan. 6, 1982. Elizabeth was married to Gilbert Parry Sept. 20, 1986, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church-Neptune. They made their home in Le Mars. Gilbert Parry died Dec. 31, 2000.

Elizabeth was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars and the Church Guild.

She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses: Kathleen and Al Rounds of Centennial, Colo., Tom and Diane Britt, Dan and Deb Britt and Arlan and Sandy Britt, all of Le Mars; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Cyrilla Nordstrom of Le Mars; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a brother Harold Baldes; a sister Leona Dreckman; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Minert Britt, Marguerite and Arthur Allison and Vernon and Marie Britt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with the Rev. Matt Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery-Neptune in Lincoln Township.

Visitation will be anytime after 3 p.m. Thursday at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, where there will be a parish rosary at 4 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Chad Britt, David Britt, Andrew Britt, Steven Britt, Christopher Britt, Tim Hess and Curt Sitzmann.
