Le Mars, IowaMiss Anna Hoffmann, former Le Mars resident, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, in a hospital at Cherokee, Iowa. She was 54 years of age at the time of her death.
Funeral services were held this morning in St. Joseph's church at nine o'clock and burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Anna Hoffmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Hoffmann, was born in Johnson township in 1881 and lived there until 1907 when she moved to Le Mars with her father. She resided in Le Mars for eight years. After this she spent a number of years in Dubuque and the latter few years at Cherokee.
She is survived by nine brothers and sisters: D. J. Hoffmann, Currie, Minn.; J. F. Hoffmann, Glasgow, Mont.; T. J. Hoffmann, Merrill, Iowa; John Hoffmann of Merrill; Frank and Leo of Le Mars; Mrs. Hubert Nemmers of Mitchell, S. D.: Mrs. Al Cummiskey, Currie, Minn.: and Mrs. Ted Paal, of Currie, Minn.
Deceased was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Katherine and Josephine and one infant brother.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of Wiltgen's.

Was Member of Pioneer Johnson Township FamilyMiss Anna Hoffman, aged 54, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Hoffman, early settlers in Johnson township, Plymouth County, died Friday, September 13, at Cherokee. She had been suffering from ill health for the past few years.
She was born in Johnson township on their homestead, where she grew up and received her education in the rural and parochial schools, and helped in the work of the large farm, with numerous brothers and sisters.
She came to LeMars in 1907, with her father, living here for eight years, and then went to Dubuque, where she lived until her health broke down.
She leaves a large family of brothers and sisters who are: D.J. Hoffman, Currie, Minn.; J. F. Hoffman, Glasgow, Montana; T.J. Hoffman, Merrill; Frank Hoffman, LeMars; John Hoffman, Merrill; Leo M. Hoffman, LeMars; Mrs. Hubert Nemmers, Mitchell, S.D.; Mrs. Al Cummiskey, Currie, Minn.; Mrs. Ted Paal, Currie, Minn. Her parents, two sisters, Katherine and Josephine, and an infant brother preceded her in death.
Miss Hoffman was well known and popular in her younger days, before serious illness and suffering clouded her life, and the news of her death brought expressions of regret from many friends.
The funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Joseph church, in this city, Mgr. J.D. Fisch officiating and interment made in St. Joseph cemetery.
NOTE--The spelling of the surname in these obituary mentions are both Hoffman and Hoffmann.
