Christophor Alan Wiersma (Sanow), 35, a former Le Mars area resident, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, in Washington state.

Chris had attended Le Mars Community High School and moved to Washington about 10 years ago.

Chris enjoyed fishing, swimming, camping, cooking and laughing. He touched many lives.

Chris was a son, brother, father, nephew, grandson, uncle and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Season Reinert and her mother Michelle, of Remsen; his mother, Pat Hunter of New Braunfels, Texas; his stepfather, Del Sanow of Washington; his grandmother Hanna Wiersma of Sibley; a brother Cory Schrick and his partner Amy, of Le Mars; a brother Tyler Sanow and his partner Amanda of Washington, and a sister Suzie Miller and her husband Kody of Merrill; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Chris was preceded in death by his brother Elijah; his grandfather Bernard Wiersma, and grandparents Delbert and Lois Sanow, Melvin and Gert Schrick; and his stepfather Larry Hunter.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Riverside Cemetery in Akron. The service will be followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Le Mars Eagles Club.
