JOHN B. WOLF

John B. Wolf, whose home was at 709 – 1st St. SE passed away at his home on February 8, 1953, following a sickness of six months. He was 83 years of age.

Mr. Wolf was born September 13, 1869, at Bellvue, Iowa. He came to this community as a youth of 13. He and Mary Ann Schielter were married on June 22, 1897, at Remsen. They farmed near Alton several years after their marriage then moved to Marion township, south of Remsen. They lived there until 1926 when they retired and moved to LeMars.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, at 930 a.m. at St. Joseph’s church with Msg. J.D. Fisch officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, under the direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, Julius Wolf of Adrian, Minnesota, Cornelius Wolf of Remsen, and Celestinus Wolf of LeMars; three brothers, William of Alton; Edward of Marshall, Minnesota; and Peter of Remsen; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Kramer of Omaha; Mrs. Anna Storhbeen of Santa Cruz, California; and Mrs. Christine Thelen of Carroll, Iowa. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Elmer and Joseph and three sisters.

Remains will be at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home until time of services.
