EDGAR E. HIRSCH

Edgar E. Hirsch, well-known LeMars salesman, passed away following an operation at St. Joseph’s hospital in Sioux City last week. Death came on Thursday night, Feb. 5, after a sickness of one week.

Mr. Hirsch, an automotive parts and equipment sales man, resided at 436 North Lynn Drive in LeMars. He was 54 years, 8 months and 26 days of age.

Edgar Hirsch was born May 9, 1898, at Tripp, S.D. He had resided at Tripp, Scotland, Sioux Falls, Huron, and Mitchell in South Dakota and in Sioux City and LeMars.

On November 1, 1917, he was united in marriage with Violet H. Schaper in Sioux Falls. Four children were born to this union.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 9, at St. John’s American Lutheran Church in LeMars at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. L.L. Belk officiating. Burial was in the LeMars City Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Violet, of LeMars; three sons, Robert of Omaha; Richard in the Army; and Wesley in Sioux Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Westman of Sioux City; and five grandchildren; three brothers, Harold of Garland, Texas, Victor of Richland, Washington, and Arthur of Los Angeles, Calif.

Deceased, who was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and eight brothers, was a member of the Commercial Travelers Association and St. John’s American Lutheran Church.
