ROY SAMPSON

Roy Kresling Sampson passed away at his home at 813 3rd Ave. SE today, Thursday, August 20, at 1:30 p.m. He had been suffering from dropsy for the past ten months.

Mr. Sampson, a retired farmer, was born October 16, 1897, at Shullsburg, Wis., and was 55 years of age. His parents were the late Anna and Samuel Sampson. He lived in Sioux county most of his life. On November 22, 1918, he was united in marriage with Ella Marie Kallsen at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in LeMars.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at St. John’s American Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. L.L. Belk officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Ella; a brother, Otto Sampson of Long Beach; and a sister, Mrs. Lyle (Mary) Davis of Redondo Beach, Calif. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
