EARLY, Iowa -- Doris Weber, 77, of Early died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Early United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Early Union Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., at Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City, Iowa.

Doris Brown was born May 17, 1925, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Nelson and Esther (Phillips) Brown. She graduated from Le Mars High School in 1943, and later from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

She married John Weber on Aug. 4, 1949, in Adaville, Iowa. They farmed in the Early area for many years. John died Feb. 22, 1999.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, John Nelson and Jeannette Weber and Mark and Sandy Weber, all of Early, and Todd and Mary Weber of Norfolk, Neb.; a daughter and her husband, Kim and Ted Eckerle of Monticello, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, her twin, Donald Brown of Merrill, Iowa, and Melvin Brown of Westfield, Iowa; and five sisters-in-law, Jo Brown of Merrill, Vivian Keuhn of Trenton, Mo., Dorothy Yanak of Lincoln, Neb., Geri Boger of Lake View, Iowa, and Hallie Mason of Early.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Floyd.
