WAS LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF PLYMOUTH COUNTY

Julius Beck, a lifelong resident of Plymouth County, died at his home in LeMars, Tuesday morning of last from an attack of heart trouble. Mr. Beck had been failing in health since last December but his condition was not regarded as critical.

The deceased was a member of a well known Plymouth County family which settled in Stanton and Lincoln townships in pioneer times. He was a son of Joseph Beck and Caroline Eichhorst, who went to LeMars in the seventies. Julius Oswald Paul Beck was born in Stanton Township April 8, 1885, and was approaching his 50th year.

He was united in marriage with Miss Emma Woldt, February 16, 1909. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and four children, Ralph, Myrna, Earl and Paul and a large family of brothers and sisters who are August, Albert, Charles, Edward and Herman Beck of this county; Mrs. Minnie Kounkel of Leeds, Mrs. Kose of Washington, Mrs. Edith Prust of LeMars, Mrs. Clara Hoffmann, of Sioux City. A sister, Mrs. Emma Ideker, preceded him in death, passing away in 1923.

Mr. Beck was confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township when a youth. He was a devoted husband and father and was esteemed by a large number in the community where he passed his whole life.

The funeral was held Friday afternoon from the E. Beck home at two o’clock with services at 2:30 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township with the pastor, Rev. R.J. Torgler, officiating.
