MRS. EMMA BLUE

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Blue, 88, who died Wednesday morning, Sept. 23, at the Sacred Heart Hospital, were held Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at Hildreth Memorial Church.

Rev. K.L. Clawson officiated and burial was in the city cemetery under the direction of Mauer’s funeral home. The body was at the church from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday.

In accord with Mrs. Blue’s personal request, the family has asked that no flowers be sent but memorial gifts be given for missions of the Evangelical United Brethren church in the state of Iowa.

Emma Baker was born May 16, 1865, in Van Horne, Iowa. She married W.C. Blue there in 1889. They couple moved west in 1891 and settled on a farm near Washta. They lived there until 1919 when they retired to LeMars.

Mrs. Blue had been in ill health the past two years, and entered the Sacred Heart Hospital two weeks ago. She was a member of the W.C.T.U. and Hildreth Memorial church.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include four sons, Earl of Hospers, Clarence of Washta, Emery of Lincoln, Neb., and Arthur of Mount Vernon, Iowa, and a daughter, Mrs. Joy Bixby of LeMars. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
