LOUELLA CLARKE CAR ACCIDENT VICTIM

Louella B. Clarke, a former resident of LeMars, was killed in an intersection auto accident Sunday afternoon about 1 o’clock on a county road near Worthington, Minn.

Miss Clarke, with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wright, were driving to the home of their brother, Harry, in Reading, Minn., at the time of the accident. The cars collided at the intersection and Miss Clarke who was riding in the front seat received the brunt of the impact. She died enroute to the hospital.

Mrs. Wright received a broken collar bone, broken leg and fractured ribs. Mr. Wright was not seriously injured.

Louella B. Clarke was born in LeMars Jan. 27, 1900, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Clarke. At the age of 9, she had polio and from that time she was confined to a wheel chair.

Some years ago she went to Kinbrae to live with her sister, Mrs. Wright.

Surviving are: Harry S. of Reading, Minn., Melvin G. and Raymond W. of Marshalltown, Russell J. and Mrs. C.E. Wright (Mabel), both of Kinbrae, Minn., Mrs. Kenneth Wernli (Elizabeth) Hudson, Ohio and Mrs. Donald DePree (Florence), Detroit Lakes, Minn.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, April 9, at 1 o’clock at the Benson funeral home in Worthington. At 3:45 graveside committal service will be held at the LeMars city cemetery.
