Donald L. "Booty" De Lair
(Died November 3, 2006)

Le Mars, Iowa – Donald L. “Booty” De Lair, 55, of Le Mars passed away on Friday, November 3, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2006 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars, Iowa. Father Jim Tigges of St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars will officiate. Burial will follow the funeral at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars with military honors provided by Wasmer Post #241 of the American Legion in Le Mars. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the Mauer – Johnson Family Gathering Room. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the funeral home prior to the funeral.

Donald Lawrence De Lair was born August 1, 1951, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Evelyn (Danne) and George De Lair. He attended Le Mars Community High School. Following his education Don enlisted in the United States Army. He entered the service on October 4, 1968 and received his Honorable Discharge on September 9, 1971 having attained the rank of Specialist E5.

Don returned to Le Mars and was employed at Sioux Tools and later worked at the Boat Farm, retiring in 2003.

He married Linda R. Britton on November 23, 1974, at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. They were blessed with two daughters, Lisa and Lora De Lair currently residing in Omaha, Nebraska.

Don is survived by Linda and daughters Lisa and Lora; a brother Danne De Lair and his children Aaron De Lair, Josh and Katie De Lair, Jenny and Jason Grieve all of Sioux City, Iowa; extended family members Earl and Mary Britton, John and Margaret Britton, Mark and Michele Britton, Kay and Chuck Kellen all of Le Mars, Merle Britton of Winsted, MN, Sue and Mike Nash of Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister-in-law Donna Britton.
