BERTHA MADISON

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha L. Madison, who resided at 326 First Street SW in LeMars were held at 10:30 a.m. today, March 23, 1959, at the Mauer funeral home with Rev. R.V. Gildner officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery under direction of Mauers.

Bertha Post, the daughter of Hanna Keinerman Madison and John Post was born February 19, 1876, at Plattville, Wisconsin. She was married to Frederick Madison at Storm Lake, Iowa, who preceded her in death more than 52 years ago, and was 83 years of age. She had been ailing for several months and died March 20 at Sacred Heart Hospital where she had been a patient for only four days.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Wasmer, of Highmore, South Dakota, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie and four brothers and a sister. She was a member of the First Methodist church.
