GEORGE RENTSCHLER

George Rentschler, well known retired farmer, real estate broker and insurance broker, passed away at Canton, South Dakota, on November 10, 1953. He was 83 years, 2 months and 21 days of age.

Mr. Rentschler was born August 19, 1870, at Clayton County Iowa. At the age of 4, he came to the Struble vicinity. After his marriage to Caroline Sophia Winterfeldt on April 2, 1893, at Struble, they farmed near Sioux Center until retiring to LeMars in 1919. LeMars has since been his home. The last few years were spent in California in winter and the summer months with children in Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 14, at the Mauer funeral home here. Rev. Bernard Hobbell of Inwood, Iowa, will officiate at last rites and burial will be in the LeMars city cemetery.

Survivors include his children: Mrs. George (Cora) Ahrendt, Geo. E. Rentschler and Louis Rentschler, all of Inwood, Iowa; Mrs. Walter (Laura) Dominick of Struble, Mrs. Bertha Weber of Sioux City and Mrs. Lloyd (Lillian) Sheeler of Larchwood, Iowa. 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren also survive as do two brothers, Rudolph of Canton, South Dakota, and August Rentschler of Long Beach, California, and one sister, Clara Wiederman of Aberdeen, South Dakota.

Preceding him in death were his wife and five children, Rose and Earnest and three infants.
