FATALLY INJURED IN FALL FROM ELEVATOR

Funeral services for Marvin Richards, 27, of Hinton, who was fatally injured last Friday in a fall from near the top of the new grain elevator in Hinton, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Methodist church in Hinton. Rev. Donald Harbour officiated, and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marvin was employed by the Tillitson Construction Co. of Omaha, and was working on a scaffold on the nearly completed structure of the Farmers Co-op Co., when he lost his balance and fell 105 feet to the concrete top of a hopper. He was taken to a Sioux City hospital and died about 50 minutes after being admitted. Dr. Thomas L. Coriden, Woodbury County coroner, said death was due to multiple fractures, hemorrhages and shock. Marvin had been emplyed by the Tillitson Co., since Tuesday of last week, and working as a carpenter. He was lifelong resident of Hinton.

Survivors include a son, Tommy; a daughter, Susan; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Richards, and four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Tauge, Mrs. Vernice Felton, Mrs. Delores Holtz and Sharon Richards.

Military rites were held at the graveside, in charge of Casper Post No. 477, of Hinton. The pallbearers were Dick Richards, Danny Thompson, Clarence Schindel, Pat Jones, Ray Early and Dale Nielsen.
