MRS. JENNIE RICHARDS CALLED TO REST AT 90

Mrs. Jennie Richards, 90, a resident of this community for 77 years, and one of the oldest residents in the vicinity, passed away Monday in a Sioux City hospital, where she had been a patient since Saturday due to suffering a fractured hip in a fall at her home.

Mrs. Richards was born March 31, 1864, in Dubuque, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Joseph Richards, Dec. 9, 1887, at LeMars. He died Oct. 2, 1924, at Hinton. Mrs. Richards was a charter member of the Methodist church in Hinton and had many friends who mourn her passing.

Survivors include four sons, George, Frank and Clinton, of Hinton and Richard of Moville; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Crawford of Hinton, Mrs. Ella Good of Cherokee, and Mrs. Grace Torbert of West Brentwood, Long Island, N.Y.; a brother, Joseph Thompson of Hinton; 31 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Henry.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Methodist church in Hinton, with Rev. Ralph Kitterman of Rockwell City, Ia., and Rev. F.D. Wimp of Hinton, officiating.

Music consisted of vocal solos by Mrs. Walter Held and Mrs. Alton Forsberg, accompanied by Miss Marylan Brehm.

Burial was in the Lincoln Township cemetery, southeast of Hinton.

Pallbearers were six grandsons.
