MRS. AUGUST RIEDIGER

Funeral services for Mrs. August (Bertha) Riediger, 86, LeMars, will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. Lee R. Mentink will officiate.

Mrs. Riediger died Tuesday (March 10, 1981) at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sioux City, after an extended illness. She was hospitalized for three days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Ralph, and two brothers, Fremont and Martin, and a grandson, Monty.

Bertha Muecke was born April 4, 1894, to Julius and Marie Ideker Muecke. She was a lifelong Plymouth County resident.

Her marriage to August Riediger took place Feb. 23, 1916, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township. The couple farmed in the Hinton area and moved into LeMars in 1964. Mr. Riediger died Feb. 7, 1979.

Survivors are her two sons, Earl and Dale, both of Hinton; eleven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Muecke of San Juan, Tex.; and a sister, Mrs. Henry (Caroline) Howe, Hinton.
