Funeral Tuesday
for Nick Stoos

Nick Stoos, long-time Remsen resident, died Saturday, October 5 at Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars, at the age of 88. He had been in failing health for some time.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 8 at St. Mary’s Catholic church here. Msgr. F. P. Schultes officiated and burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mr. Stoos was born March 19, 1880 in Luxembourg. He married Catherine Knewel on October 17, 1907 at Remsen. He lived near and in Remsen most of his life. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Schuchard of Pipestone, Minn., Mrs. Wm. Schuchard of Remsen, Mrs. Bertha Driver of Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Martha Denny of Miami, Florida, seven grandchildren; one great grandchild, and a brother Henry, in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, two grandsons, three brothers and one sister.

The funeral was directed by the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.
