Gordon K. Parkhill, 91, of Sioux City died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were held Saturday, May 10, at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. The Rev. Rayann Burnham of Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in Logan Park Cemetery.

Mr. Parkhill was born Jan. 14, 1912, in Plymouth County, Iowa, the son of David C. and Anna M. (Jessup) Parkhill.

He married Helen C. Kelly on April 13, 1933, in Elk Point, S.D. He farmed in Plymouth County and was a longtime employee of the Sioux City Milk Producers Association. Mrs. Parkhill passed away Feb. 1, 2000, in Sioux City.

He was a member of Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Dorothy and Robert Lansworth of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Harold and Pauline Parkhill of Sioux City; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Damon and Kenneth Parkhill.

Pallbearers will be Jim Wingert, Tom Wingert, Roger Hummel, Darrell Peters, Robert Lansworth and William Garrod.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ.
