AMIL CARSTEN DIES AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS
Amil F. Carsten, 78, passed away early Wednesday morning following a brief illness in the Otto Schultz home in Hinton where he had resided a number of years. Mr. Carsten was born July 9, 1868, at Clinton, Iowa. He farmed 35 years near Battle Creek, Iowa, and upon retiring came to Plymouth County about nine years ago and for several years has resided in the Otto Schultz home.
Survivors include a son, Earl of Westfield; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Bernhardt of Westfield and Mrs. Ruby Richards of Sioux City; three brothers, Henry of Battle Creek, Herman of Tecumseh, Okla., and Charles of Shawnee, Okla.; a sister Minnie Weaver of Bowlegs, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Rutledge funeral home in Sioux City with Rev. C. G. Stevens officiating.
